What to expect
From first arrow to bullseye
A proper coached session on a dedicated woodland range, with six targets, a full rack of recurve bows, and an instructor who will have you grouping arrows before the hour is out.
We start with the fundamentals: stance, nocking the arrow, the draw, anchor point and release. Once everyone is shooting safely and consistently, the session turns into a set of games and challenges: balloon pops, closest-to-centre and knockout rounds.
No experience needed and all equipment is provided.

How the session runs
Safety brief
We go through simple range rules and clear instructor guidance, including the key reminder everyone remembers: always keep your bow pointed safely towards the targets.
Technique coaching
Your instructor works through stance, draw and release with each person individually until the arrows start landing.
Games and challenges
Balloon targets, closest-to-centre and team knockouts. This is where the competitive streak appears.

Common questions
What is the minimum age for archery?
Twelve years old. That minimum applies to all our target sports: archery, axe throwing and .22 rifle shooting. For younger children, laser tag starts at age 6 and mini tanks at age 8.
Do I need any experience?
None at all. Every session starts from scratch with full coaching, and most people are hitting the target inside ten minutes.
How many people can take part?
Up to 10 on non-corporate sessions. At weekends there is a minimum of 2 people per booking; weekday sessions are priced as a flat rate for up to 10.
Can I combine this with other target sports?
Yes, and most people do. Our Combo 2 package covers two of archery, axe throwing and rifle shooting over two hours; the Ultimate Combo covers all three over three hours. See combo packages for prices.
What happens if it rains?
Rain does not stop play unless our staff judge conditions to be hazardous. Group organisers will be told as soon as possible, though occasionally that call cannot be made until we are on site on the day.
Can I just turn up?
No. We are not a walk-on site, so every session must be booked in advance. Please do not travel without a booking. Book online or call 01344 286577.
