What to expect
Scoped rifles, steady rests, unlimited rounds
A covered outdoor range with proper shooting benches, scoped .22 air rifles and targets set out across the woodland. Precision rather than noise, and genuinely addictive once you start grouping shots.
Everything starts with safety. We go through clear instructor guidance and the range rules everyone follows, so you know exactly how to handle the rifle and what to expect before you shoot. Then it is down to technique: breathing, trigger control and reading the scope.
Once you are cleared to shoot, you have unlimited rounds to get through and a whole range of targets to work your way along: spinners, cans, magnetic targets, and paper targets featuring zombies and hostage takers. The zombie and hostage taker targets are scored, so the session turns competitive as soon as everyone finds their aim.

On the day
How the session runs
Range safety
A full safety brief with clear instructor guidance, covering safe handling and the range commands. Everyone is briefed before they step onto the firing point.
Zero and coach
Settle into the bench, find your natural point of aim, and work on breathing and trigger control with your instructor.
Shoot for score
Unlimited rounds and a scored card. Groups tighten fast once the competition starts.

Common questions
What is the minimum age for rifle shooting?
Twelve years old, in line with archery and axe throwing. The group is supervised throughout, and our instructors give younger participants extra attention to make sure they are safe and comfortable.
What rifles do you use?
.22 calibre air rifles fitted with sniper scopes, shot from rests at a purpose-built outdoor range. Pellets are supplied and unlimited during your session.
Do I need any experience?
No. Every session starts with a full safety brief and individual coaching. Most first-timers are grouping shots well within the hour.
Is there anything I need to declare?
We ask safety questions as part of the booking form. Please answer them fully, particularly anything affecting vision, mobility or the ability to follow range commands.
Can I combine this with other target sports?
Yes, and most people do. Our Combo 2 package covers two of archery, axe throwing and rifle shooting over two hours; the Ultimate Combo covers all three over three hours. See combo packages for prices.
Can I just turn up?
No. We are not a walk-on site, so every session must be booked in advance. Please do not travel without a booking. Book online or call 01344 286577.
What happens if it rains?
Rain does not stop play unless our staff judge conditions to be hazardous. Group organisers will be told as soon as possible, though occasionally that call cannot be made until we are on site on the day.
